There are days when digital starts creeping up on me. I know its one of those inevitabilities. I just love film, and working with film. Otherwise, I would just try to shoot all future projects on an Alexa (assuming I had the money).

El milagro de Candeal es un hermoso documental que vi por primera vez en una clase de Alejandro Calzadilla en la UNEY, hace un par de años. Esta semana, será la proyección que despida las funciones del cineclub antes del período vacacional.

Leyendo en internet para la reseña de la peli, me encontré con una frase genial del promotor de esta producción, considerado un héroe de la favela de Candeal, quien a punta de música y actividades culturales ha rescatado a su barrio de la violencia y el malandraje:

“La revolución destruye, la evolución construye” - Carlinhos Brown, un tipo que lejos de andar dando pena con resentimientos sociales o búsqueda de paternalismo, supo evolucionar, haciendo cosas increíblemente positivas desde las entrañas de una favela brasilera. Y todo está narrado por Bebo Valdés y documentado ahí, en El milagro de Candeal.

Man estas cámaras son las mas accesibles para la cinematografía de alto calibre, comparada con una Arri y ahora están tomando mucha popularidad por su versatilidad, y su sensor llega a los 6K de resolución, el sensor de esta es de 6 x 17 cm son unas monstruosidades y lo arrecho es que puedes configurar el hardware a tu gusto D=

“Recently released “CineStyle” is a logarhitmic Picture Profile for Canon V-DSLR cameras.
Technicolor have created and today released for download a new S-Curve 3D LUT in the mga format that will work with Apple’s Color and LUT Buddy as well as other apps that support the .mga format lut.

You can get the new S-Curve 3D LUT at the CineStyle DOWNLOAD PAGE
LUT Buddy is a free Plugin by Red Giant Software which you can get HERE (Just fill out the form real quick)

Note: for use with Apple Color you don’t need the LUT Buddy software. Just go to File –> Import –> Display LUT and choose the .mga file. If you don’t know how to go about using that LUT you might need to learn Apple Color and get into Color Grading first.
